Dharma to Isvara: Opening and Surrendering

When we work both of these types of poses, it can help release blockages in not only the spine, but also in the energy body. We will begin by taking a look at the base of spine, exploring the sacrum as the root of our energy, and how stabilizing this energy root can encourage the opening of the heart. Time will be spent on various back bending asana, along with variations, structure, and alignment associated with each. Next we will turn our attention to forward bends, studying the structure, alignment, and variations of these counter poses to the backbend.
