This weekend we will explore the fundamental beginnings of Hatha as a balancing practice for the body. We will also be looking at twisting asanas, their variations & learning sequencing of floors poses as well as foundational Ayurvedic principles, Prana and concepts of Gunas.

Mastering the winds of the body, give us the ability to master flight and experience lightness. This weekend we look at not only the vayus (winds) but also shoulder consciousness, inversions and arm balances. We will learn variations,counterposes, adjustments and alignment techniques.
We are all creatures of habit–repeating patterns of thinking, feeling, and acting over and over. Some of our patterns are positive and helpful while others keep us circling through unproductive and harmful cycles. In yoga, these patterns are called samskaras. Come spend the afternoon looking at some common patterns that occur on the mat, what those patterns can tell us, and how we can shift out of habitual negative ruts and find a new groove.

Sometimes we need to spend time breaking down a specific genre of poses. This weekend we examine forward bending postures, alignment and variations. We will also focus on physiology of the spine and the manipura chakra. These physical aspects along with the study of kriya yoga and upanishads give us the ability to cleanse the mind and allow us to bow humbly to our truest self.
