Our modules were created to give the teacher or experienced student a deeper understanding of the yoga asanas, philosophical teachings, yoga history, and anatomy as it relates to some of the more advanced yoga postures. The three modules are comprised of the original six Advanced Studies modules that were previously required. All three modules are offered once per year in sequential order. They are taught primarily by Trace Sahaja Bonner, E-RYT 500, Kat Hendrix E-RYT 500, and Sonia Lennartz E-RYT 500. Those taking the modules as part of the Advanced Studies program must complete each module or equivalent study. These programs do not need to be taken in any specific order.
Sthira to Samadhi: Static and Flow
As the body flows, we can cultivate a steadiness in the mind. It is through this steadiness of mind that we may reach the objective state of Samadhi. During this module, we learn to find our feet (pada bandha) as we ground to find steadiness (sthira). We will explore the variations, structure, and alignment of the standing asanas. We will also break down Surya Namaskar and learn to create flowing sequences by weaving various standing poses into the sun salutation.
Subjects covered:
Awareness of the feet
Standing Asanas
Vinyasa (Sun Salutes & Dragon Flows)
Flow Sequencing
Philosophy
This workshop is offered virtually and in-studio.
