Teacher Training Programs

In 2002 we began offering a comprehensive teacher training program, where those who were interested in learning how to teach could come and gain the skills necessary to put together traditional sequences and learn the fundamental aspects of Yoga. Fast forward 20 years, and many of the people interested in participating in a 200-hour teacher training are less interested in teaching, per se, and more interested in deepening their understanding of the practice itself. So in 2010 we created the Living Your Yoga program for those who wanted to take their understanding of Yoga to another level, but were not actually interested in teaching. In recent years, with input from those who have completed both our 200-hour teacher training program, as well as the Living Your Yoga programs, we did a bit of revamping and combing. The result is the 2 two programs that we currently offer concurrently twice each year.

Grounding Your Practice is intended to inspire those who want to look deeply at their practice on and off the mat.

Expressing Your Practice is our full 200-hour teacher training program.

In addition to offering a deeper look into the practice of Yoga, both programs are designed to take the student further into the ancient teachings, as well as expanding upon how we can apply the practice to our everyday lives. It’s an exciting time when a practitioner decides to take this leap. The more we experience and learn about the practice, the more we can utilize the wisdom of the teachings to transform us and potentially even share our understanding with others.

If you would like to further understand the Postures, History of Yoga, Yoga Philosophy and Meditation, but are not ready to commit to the full certification program, Grounding Your Practice is a great place to start.

If you would like to share Yoga through teaching, our 200-Hour Teacher Training: Expressing Your Practice provides is an in-depth certification program.

If you have already completed a 200-hour teacher training program (with us or through another training facility), you may be interested in our 300-hour Advanced Studies program which began in 2006 and is Yoga Alliance Approved. This program provides the opportunity to continue your study of Yoga and its related curriculum.

Grounding Your Practice (40 hours)

This enriching essential immersion is designed to give participants a deeper understanding of the philosophies and practice of yoga. This program coincides with the beginning portion of our 200-hour teacher training program, and upon completion, you will be given the opportunity to continue directly on with 200-hour teacher training program, if you wish.

Completion of this program DOES NOT qualify you to teach yoga. You will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the program, but that certificate IS NOT a certificate to teach. Hours from this program, however, do count toward completion of the 300-hour certificate for those who are enrolled in our Advanced Studies program.

200-hour Teacher Training

2022 marks the 20th year of teacher training Holy Cow Yoga Center! We offer our intensive, comprehensive teacher training program twice each year. The material and essence are identical in each offering, but the structural breakdown varies to make the program accessible to a wider range of people.

We offer a 4-month weekend program and a 3 1/2 month weekend program. The structure is ideal for those who work or attend school during the week.

During the summer, we offer an accelerated 21-day program. This structure works well for school teachers and students who are out of school for the summer, as well as those who are able to devote full weekdays to their teacher training for a shorter period of time.

Our program is approved and certified by Yoga Alliance for both in-person and virtual learning.

300-Hour Advanced Studies

For those who have completed our 200-hour teacher training program, or for anyone who has earned a 200-hour teacher training certificate from any qualified training school, we offer the opportunity to complete the additional 300 training hours required to register with Yoga Alliance as a 500-hour teacher.

This program is approved and certified by Yoga Alliance for both in-person and virtual learning.
