Join Martha to deepen your understanding of the hips—one of the body’s most powerful and complex areas.
Open to students and teachers alike, this 3.5 hour experience blends lecture, mindful movement, and deep release practices to help you move with greater ease, stability, and awareness both on and off the mat.
We’ll begin with a lecture that breaks down the anatomy of the pelvis, hips, and thighs, giving you a clear understanding of how these structures work together. You’ll learn how key muscle groups function, when they engage, and how imbalances can impact your movement and overall practice.
From there, we’ll take the learning onto the mat. Through guided warm-ups, seated shapes, and standing postures, you’ll explore hip-focused alignment in a practical, accessible way. Expect clear, actionable cues to help you build a more sustainable and personalized practice.
We’ll close with a deeply nourishing session of myofascial release and Yin yoga. Using therapy balls, you’ll learn techniques to target tension and uncover common trigger points around the hips. This will transition into a slow, hip-centered Yin practice designed to release stored tension, improve mobility, and leave you feeling grounded and restored.
This workshop is ideal for anyone looking to better understand their body, refine their yoga practice, and cultivate long-term hip health—no matter your experience level.
