About the Author

Kat Hendrix, PhD, E-RYT 500, became a Certified Yoga Teacher (ERYT-500) and has taught yoga classes and workshops for sixteen years at Holy Cow Yoga Center in Charleston, SC. Her unique teaching method "demystifies" human anatomy and helps yoga students at all levels better understand their practice. Classes and workshops focus on specific poses like arm balances, back bends, forward folds, or inversions to find proper alignment and muscle recruitment, avoid injury, and learn about the subtle effects they have on your biochemistry. She has found so much joy and friendship in the yoga community, but, for her, a deeper dive into understanding the practice led her to being The Yoga Mechanic.
