Yoga brings attention to how we can regulate our nervous system. And while life experiences and stress can shift us from feeling like our true selves, Yoga Sutra 1.3 reminds us that that we can always return back to a space of mental clarity.
Join Deborah for an evening to learn where your body stores stress and how that affects your daily life. This workshop is designed with tools to reconnect to the way your body moves, breathes and senses— gifting you a stronger sense of awareness of your mental and physical landscape.
We’ll begin with a presentation of the functions of the nervous system, discussing how we store internal and external stressors and life experiences. Then, we’ll explore some somatic breathing techniques and meditations for releasing and restoring comfort in our body. Lastly, we’ll practice some simple yoga poses and create space for experiential movement as well.
All are welcome. Please bring a yoga mat, notebook and wear comfy clothes.
