Special Class: *Virtual Gentle Somatic Yoga with Danielle Parker

When muscles become tight from an injury or remain tight over long periods of time, muscle amnesia occurs. The brain believes that tightness is the normal resting state. Gentle Somatic Yoga uses slow, mindful movements to ease chronic pain, discomfort, and postural imbalances by creating new brain-to-muscle connections. As we know, physical health is tied to emotional and spiritual health as well. When we bring the physical body into a natural state of balance, we experience overall peace and well-being. Join me for a virtual one hour Gentle Somatic Yoga class. We will connect with the body, re-educate the brain, and remember our natural state of peace.

All levels, including beginners, are welcome in this virtual class.

Danielle Parker came to yoga via meditation. As an undergraduate, she decided to get an "easy A" by taking a course titled Meditation in Indian Culture. While she did not get an A, she did become hooked on meditation. More than a decade later, after kids and jobs and way too much Real Life, she came across yoga as she attempted to rediscover her meditation practice. She was amazed at the connection between body and breathe and the corresponding effect it had on her mind. She completed her 200 hour teacher training at Holy Cow in 2016. She is currently working towards her 500-hour certification and is a registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance. She is grateful for the opportunity to spread the light.
