The Art of Mandala Meditation

  • Holy Cow Yoga Center 10 Windermere Boulevard Charleston, SC, 29407 United States (map)

With Connie Rigdon & J. Steven Willard

Find balance and inner healing through meditation and the drawing of your personal mandala. Join Steven and Connie for a brief yin practice, meditation, and mandala drawing. We will start with seated yin poses that will create space to help unblock our energy paths and foster creativity. Then Steven will guide us through a short meditation. Finally, Connie will lead everyone through the steps to creating your personal Mandala while in this meditative state.  Once the Mandalas are drawn and colored, we will end with a seated meditation for another 5 to 10 minutes.

$65

All art supplies included.

In studio only.

Born in Taipei, Taiwan then subsequently raised in Hawaii, Southern California and summers back in Taipei. I currently reside in Charleston SC, which I love.  It is a city full of history and beautiful architecture; a very paintable city.  My work is a full expression of our world around us which is so filled with energy and chaos and my response to it. As a reflection of our everchanging world, the dialogue that occurs in my work is constantly changing. My experiences through travel and the many places where I have lived both here in the United States and abroad have shaped me not only as a person but as an artist.  My educational and work background in architectural design has given me a disciplined practice as well as a foundation in problem solving that is very much the core in all my paintings.

Steven Willard began practicing Yoga in order to heal injuries and handle stress, then got hooked on feeling better. A nurturer and a charmer, Steven is stiff-guy/gal friendly, friendly to people with sore backs, friendly to people with body image issues, friendly to people who are self-conscious or anxious and friendly to people who are yoga-phobic. Steven believes in and embodies the maxim that yoga is for everyone. He sees yoga as the union of body, breath, and spirit with an all-important added dash of humor, and always open to grace. His classes are rooted in the concept of doing less harm - ahimsa. He interviews a variety of guests on a vast array of topics on his weekly podcast, There Once Was a Yogi. Each episode contains a conversation that is fun, informative, and provocative. Subscribe on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts!
