About Melody:
Melody is a native New Yorker who came to Charleston in 2005 and immediately fell in love with all things the city had to offer. With the help of some friends, she was introduced to the multitude of benefits of yoga and so began her journey. She continues on this path today, always growing and learning about how to cultivate the balance between mind, body and spirit.
With 14+ years in public schools as a teacher, Instructional Coach, Transformation Specialist, and school administrator, she’s no stranger to the challenges that our children face today. This “karmically” brought her to find Kidding Around Yoga (KAY), an international children's yoga teacher training company. It was something that allowed her to combine all of her passions, education and career experiences into a neat package that made sense!
After completing training with KAY, not only did she start her own small business teaching yoga to children, but she also became a teacher trainer for the company, traveling across the country to lead trainings year-round. Soon thereafter, she left her position in the local school district to work full-time for KAY as Director of Operations and Training & Curriculum Coordinator.
After five years of thoroughly enjoying her work and its impact, she reluctantly stepped down from many of her duties at KAY to return to a more regular schedule that allowed her to spend time with family, working for an educational software company. She still contributes as a mentor for current KAY students and continues to coordinate professional development workshops across the country for schools using a program she created herself, EduKAY, a training designed specifically for educators to learn how to incorporate yoga and mindfulness strategies into the classroom.
Melody completed her teacher training at Holy Cow Yoga Center in 2017 (currently E-RYT 200) and is a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT). She is thrilled to be back at Holy Cow to share her knowledge, experience and heart with all of you! Love & Light
