Ayurveda, yoga’s sister science, is an ancient holistic healing system from India that teaches up to align with the rhythms of nature for optimal healing and wellbeing. It offers a treasure trove of wisdom to help us transition smoothly from Summer to Autumn.
Is your body telling you it’s time for a change of routine? Here’s what that might look like: feeling scattered or anxious, restless sleep or waking at night, dry skin, constipation or irregular appetite. If you’re experiencing any of that, it’s most likely not you…it’s Vata season!
In Ayurveda, Autumn is the season of Vata, governed by the elements of air and ether. A major shift is happening in nature which means a major shift is happening in the body. As the winds pick up and the air gets dry, your body and mind crave grounding, warmth, and nourishment - like a blanket wrapping you in comfort.
Ayurveda’s seasonal routines (rtucharya) can help you to harmonize your body during the ebbs and flows of the season so you can stay healthy and balanced.
In this 90 minute workshop, Angela will offer an introduction to Ayurveda for Vata season, along with cozy self-care rituals, and energy balancing breath-work. Then it’s time for yoga nidra, where you will be guided to rest held in the deep calm, and quiet support of the Earth.
This workshop is curated to ground scattered energy, soothe restlessness, and deepen your sense of inner ease so you can bring that comfy blanket-like feeling into your daily routine and keep Vata balanced throughout the season.
