Sacred India Tour and Intermediate Teacher Training

Our south India travels begin in the holy city of Tiruvannamalai, home of the spiritually charged mountain of Arunachala and the Ashram of sage Ramana Maharshi. It also has one of the largest temples in all of India, the Arunachaleswar Temple dating back to the 11th century. Then it is off to the ancient capital of the Chola kings, Tanjore. The crowning glory of the city is the Brihadishwara Temple, also known as the"Big Temple". Its architecture is known throughout the region. The city is also known for its quaint art museums and galleries. After two days of exploration, we head off for a day in Chidambram and its famous Nataraj Temple. This Shiva temple dates back to the 12 century and has impressive artistry and colorful gopurams. Our travels then take us the French influenced city of Pondicherry. Here is where we will dive into the best shopping in south India. We will also spend a day in the community Ashram of Auroville, founded by Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. Although both have left the body, their legacy and teachings live on in this sustainable community. Our final destination is the beautiful sea village of Mahabalipuram filled with sandy beaches, ancient rock carvings and shore temples. It is here that we will spend two restful days relaxing and exploring. Then it is off to Chennai, the movie capital of South India. Great food and last minute shopping before flying home (except for those traveling to the north of India).

Our northern India travel is not a tour, but rather a "free-form" journey with Trace Sahaja. Our travels will consist of a flight to New Delhi and then travel to Agra (home of the Taj Mahal). Then we journey to Rishikesh, a delightful city of Yoga on the Ganges. Our flight will take us out of Delhi to home.

On January 11 - 17, 2009, we are also offering an opportunity to study and learn within this incredible, spiritually charged environment the more intermediate to advanced practices for 200 hour teachers. This 7 day training is packed with daily practice and meditation, learning to teach new postures and pranayama techniques, and exploring the deeper elements of teaching the Sutras and the Bhavagad Gita. Each day consists of early rising (6:30am) and then 10 hours of training. Days will also consist of exploring the wonderfully vibrant city of Tiravannamulai and Ramana Maharshi's Ashram. 200 Hour Teachers, earn 70.0 hours towards 500 Hour certification!
