500 HOUR TEACHER TRAINING

We are pleased to introduce HCYC500, the Holy Cow Yoga Center 500 Hour Teacher Training Program.

This program was designed to allow 200 Hour level teachers the opportunity to move towards a 500 hour certification through ongoing programs and trainings at our 500 Hour Yoga Alliance School.
Yoga Alliance guidelines state that the additional 300 hours of training should be concentrated under the instruction of no more than two specific teachers or schools, so we offer a variety of training opportunities with the Holy Cow Yoga Center Teacher Training Staff, including Director Trace Sahaja Bonner, Kristi Barnes, Kat Hendrix & T.D. Rykard. We are also pleased to offer training throughout the year that will apply toward a 500 hour certification with various guest instructors.

Your additional 300 hours will be spread out over three tracks:
1. Practical Teaching PLUS Feedback: 85 total hours (45 of these should be contact hours)
2. Anatomy & Physiology: 15 total hours (10 contact)
3. Philosophy & Lifestyle: 30 total hours (15 contact)
This total of 130 Hours is supplemented with 170 elective hours that can be drawn from any of the above three tracks of study. The total hours from the 3 tracks PLUS the 170 elective hours equal the 300 additional hours of training.
We want to make your journey towards 500 Hour certification as fun & easy as possible, so we will track the training you complete as part of our 500 Hour School and provide information about training that you'll need to complete within each required track to achieve 500 Hour accredited status. Upon completion of training, we will issue a certificate listing total number of hours completed for presentation to Yoga Alliance for certification.

HCYC500 Training will be offered on the following dates:

To begin your training, please fill out and send us your completed application, upon which time we will send you a training grid so you will be able to plan your trainings accordingly.

There are two choices for HCYC500 training, either "FULL" or "PARTIAL" participation. "FULL" participants choose to acquire ALL 300 additional training hours through HCYC500 training. "FULL" participants enjoy a 10% discount on ALL HCYC500 training. "PARTIAL" participants may choose to utilize HCYC500 training along with training from one other 500 Hour School to acquire their 500 Hour certification. There is a non-refundable $250 application fee for "PARTIAL" participants. Send a check with your application or call us with a Visa or Mastercard.

Transferring from "FULL" to "PARTIAL" participation status? Payment of the $250 application fee will be required to continue with trainings.

Everything in a Nutshell

So, you've applied as either a "FULL" or "PARTIAL" HCYC500 participant. You have completed the required number of contact & non-contact training hours within each of the 3 Tracks, plus 170 elective training hours. What's next?

1. Complete our written Final Exam with a minimum score of 90.
2. Teach a final "Qualifying" Intermediate Level Yoga class.
3. Provide documentation of a minimum of 100 hours of teaching.

CONGRATULATIONS! Your hard work & perseverance have paid off, and you are ready to be recognized by Yoga Alliance & the Yoga community as a 500 Hour certified teacher!
