200 HOUR BASIC TEACHER TRAINING

Our 500 Hour Yoga Alliance School, which has been greatly influenced by the teachings of Sri Swami Satchidananda, is designed to give students an in depth look at Yoga, to gain the confidence and understanding of Yoga to teach and a 200 hour certification to teach. Each student will be given a comprehensive study of the following:
Deepening Your Own Personal Practice

Here, we play on the mat, learning how your own practice structures your teaching style and confidence.
Asana
We learn fundamental instruction, alignment, execution and adjustments to teach the poses (asanas) with clarity
Anatomy and Movement
Hatha Yoga is a fundamental practice of movement. We share with you basic anatomy and how to prevent student injury
Pranayama and Subtle Body
Learning breathing techniques as well as Bandhas, Nadis, Chakras, Koshas
Meditation
Most students know the poses, but very little about meditation. We will explore techniques to begin your own practice
Yoga Philosophy and Religious Studies
The teachings of Yoga arose from ancient texts, including the Vedas, Upanishads, Gita and Sutras. We will study and discuss through indepth lectures.
Sound Vibration and Sanskrit
Ancient Yoga was spoken in the language of Sanskrit, and we will honor that lineage by learning basic poses, slokas, invocation and spiritual song in Sanskrit.
All in all, you will learn not just how to teach Yoga, but to also be able to assist your students on their path toward their inner peace and self awareness. Jai (victory)

The Participant: The ancient teachings of Yoga were once handed down from teacher to student, only when the student was ready. We believe that lineage is still important, and for that reason we require participants to have a minimum of 6 months of dedicated Yoga practice before applying to become a teacher. In order to be an effective teacher, you must experience being a student. Teacher Training participants must be able to springboard from an existing practice.
The Result: Upon completion of the 200 Hour Teacher Training Program, you will receive a Certification from Holy Cow Yoga Center/500 Hour Training School to teach in a multi-disciplinary style. You will be able to register with the Yoga Alliance, a nationally recognized organization which oversees educational standards, as a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher.
The Faculty: The primary teacher is Trace Sahaja Bonner, 500 RYT, Founder and Director of Holy Cow Yoga Center.
